Welcome to Giuliano Bertello’s blog

My name is Giuliano Bertello, author of blog.bertello.org

I was born in 1984 in Asolo, a hidden gem in the North-East of Italy, in the province of Veneto. I spent 27 years in Castelfranco Veneto, a lovely small town famous for Giorgione (a High Renaissance Painter), Fregolotta (an almond dry cake) and for its Radicchio Variegato which a sort of chicory salad but more tasty.
I worked 7 years for an IT company as an Infrastructure Engineer with strong focus on Windows Servers and VMware products. At the age of 26 I felt it was time for something new. I’ve always been attracted to big cities, I wanted bigger challenges, projects and companies to deal with. I put all of that into a planetary mixer and London came out as the answer to all my problems.

I moved to London on April 2011, and after few months I knew I made the right choice, in fact it’s now 2026 and I’m fully settled in Epsom, with no plan to return back to Italy (at lease for now).

I’m currently employed by Broadcom (formerly VMware) as Senior Architect (formerly Staff Solution Architect) working with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) building software defined data centers. My primary focus is Modern Private Cloud Architecture, Network Virtualisation (NSX) and Cloud design. However as it’s not my intent to write a curriculum here, if this is what you’re looking for please check my LinkedIn profile.
